We are the home of the free because of the brave. This former RANGER was honored to get up early to support my Veteran Brothers, and with the exception of having a RANGER instructor yelling, screaming, spitting and cussing two inches from my nose, I might have thought I had returned to the US Army's famed RANGER Camp Darby at Fort Benning. But in reality, I was just over the hill from my house, proud to be competing and helping to raise money for vets in the inaugural TC-MAC (Tri-Cities Military Affairs Council) 5k obstacle course race at Vallie View Farm on Highway 93. I might be old, and a former many things, but this boy.....A RANGER FOREVER, won his age group and had a blast. Many thanks and appreciation to Mike and Sandy Vallie and their family for all of their hard work and efforts that transformed their picturesque farm into a muscle fatiguing, cardio stressing, tail kicking obstacle course that required every ounce of energy, mental commitment, and physical endurance, we the participants could bring. I and about 80-100 other vet supporting competitors left every bit of our intestinal fortitude on Vallie View's rolling hills, ponds, water slide, rope climb, tire flips, spear throwing, balance beam, rope bridge, wire crawl, and many other obstacles that taxed to the max, our endurance. Thank you to all the Vet Support Vendors in attendance, the Red Cross, We Run Events, the VA, Vallie Insurance, and the other race sponsors. The funds raised, stay here locally to help our Vets in all the ways they need assistance. Mike announced Vallie View Farm was planning to host about three of these events annually. One in support of education and schools and one for Cancer Treatment and Cures. Visit their website at vallieviewfarm.com for these races, and sign up to get you some.
